PERSONAL COACHING. A CLEAR PURPOSE.

A changing body.
A plan that changes with you.

Pregnancy and returning to exercise after birth bring different questions, priorities, and starting points. At Goodwin Strength & Stretch, prenatal and postpartum fitness begins with listening. Jessica considers your training background, how you feel, the movements you want to feel more confident doing, and the guidance from your healthcare team. Sessions focus on purposeful movement and manageable progress, with room to adjust as your needs change.

WHAT WE WORK ON

Support for every new chapter.

01 / FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH

Strength for everyday demands.

Practice the movement patterns you use to sit, stand, lift, and carry. Your coach selects exercises and resistance around your current capacity, comfort, and provider guidance. The emphasis is on coached technique and a workload that fits this stage of your life.

02 / MOVEMENT CONFIDENCE

Know your next step.

A changing routine can leave you unsure where to begin. Jessica explains the purpose of each exercise, helps you find comfortable positions, and gives you space to ask questions. Coaching makes the plan easier to understand and adapt, whether you are new to training or returning to familiar movements.

03 / CORE & STABILITY

Control before complexity.

Work on supported positions, coordination, and body awareness within your individual fitness plan. Exercise choices respond to your comfort and any guidance from your care team. This is fitness coaching; specific symptoms or rehabilitation needs belong with a qualified healthcare professional.

04 / RETURN TO EXERCISE

Progress at your own pace.

A postpartum return to training starts with where you are today. Your coach considers recovery, energy, exercise history, and provider recommendations, then builds manageable steps toward your goals. There is no pressure to match a previous workout or someone else’s timeline.

Prenatal training and postpartum coaching serve different needs.

During pregnancy

Your training conversation evolves with you. Share changes in comfort, energy, and healthcare guidance so Jessica can adjust the session. The focus is on a practical fitness routine that respects your current needs and helps you stay connected to purposeful movement.

After birth

Returning to strength training is a process, not a race to a previous body or fitness level. Together, you review what feels manageable and what needs more time. Your plan can be adapted around a changing schedule and the recommendations of your healthcare team.

Your healthcare provider guides the timing of your postpartum return. Read ACOG’s guidance on exercise after pregnancy.

HOW IT WORKS

A conversation. A plan. Ongoing progress.

  1. 01

    Talk through your starting point.

Discuss your stage, health-provider recommendations, exercise history, current symptoms or restrictions, and what you want from coaching. This conversation helps determine whether fitness coaching is the right next step and what information is needed before beginning.

  2. 02

    Build and practice your plan.

Jessica selects movements around your current readiness and explains how to perform them. Positions, resistance, range, and pace can be adjusted. Tell your coach how the work feels so the session remains responsive to you.

  3. 03

    Review, adapt, and keep communicating.

Check in about your response to training and changes in your routine or provider guidance. Progress may mean building capacity, simplifying the session, or allowing more recovery. Your plan develops from that feedback.

Common Questions

Answers Before You Start

Jessica Velasco is certified in prenatal and postpartum fitness. She provides individualized coaching at Goodwin Strength & Stretch in Bluffton, adapting the work to your stage, training experience, goals, and healthcare guidance.

Yes. Talk with your obstetric or healthcare provider before beginning or returning to exercise, and share their guidance and any restrictions with your coach. Fitness coaching complements your care; it does not replace medical assessment.

Tell Jessica about your exercise history and discuss starting exercise with your healthcare provider. Your starting point shapes the plan, including movement choices, pace, and the level of support you need.

Your coach reviews how you feel and adjusts positions, resistance, range of motion, rest, and session demands. A movement that suited you earlier may need to change as your comfort and provider guidance change.

There is no single return date for everyone. Your delivery, recovery, symptoms, and healthcare guidance matter. Talk with your provider first, then work with your coach on a gradual return suited to your current readiness.

GSS provides fitness coaching, not pelvic floor rehabilitation or diagnosis. Discuss symptoms and treatment needs with your healthcare provider or a qualified pelvic health physical therapist. Share any exercise guidance from your care team with Jessica.

Wear comfortable clothes and supportive shoes, bring water, and be ready to discuss your training history and goals. Bring any exercise recommendations or restrictions your healthcare provider has given you.

Contact GSS to discuss the current prenatal or postpartum coaching options, session duration, scheduling, and pricing before booking. Your consultation helps identify a practical starting point.

You can discuss coaching with Jessica even if your return to training is happening well beyond the early postpartum period. Your current movement, experience, goals, symptoms, and healthcare recommendations guide the conversation.

Start with your questions. Build from your starting point.

Tell us where you are in pregnancy or your return to exercise, what you would like to work toward, and any guidance from your care team. We will help you connect with Jessica and discuss the next step.
