GSS is a personal training and assisted stretch studio and semi-private 24-hour health club in Bluffton, South Carolina.

GSS offers personal training, assisted stretch therapy, TPI golf fitness, athletic performance coaching, prenatal and postpartum fitness, nutrition planning and coaching, and limited health club memberships.

Jay and Heather Goodwin founded Goodwin Strength & Stretch to serve the Lowcountry with individualized strength, mobility, performance, nutrition, and recovery support.

No. GSS provides fitness, coaching, mobility, and recovery services. We do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. Obtain healthcare clearance when appropriate.

Membership and Amenities

Yes. Health club members receive keyless 24-hour entry. Memberships are intentionally limited to preserve a semi-private training environment.

Yes. GSS amenities are available to all clients, regardless of which coaching or stretch service they use.

Amenities include an infrared sauna, red light therapy, keyless entry, coffee bar, turf functional training space, locker room, complimentary protein shakes, complimentary healthy snacks, towel service, and a shake and smoothie bar.

Yes. Complimentary protein shakes and healthy snacks are available to GSS clients. The facility also includes a dedicated shake and smoothie bar.

Yes. The club includes infrared sauna and red light therapy amenities that clients can use as part of their broader training and recovery routine.

Training and Coaching Services

Assisted stretch therapy is a practitioner-guided session where you relax while a specialist moves you through controlled stretches to support mobility, flexibility, and recovery.

Owner Jay Goodwin is a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level 3 golf fitness trainer. Jessica Velasco is a Class A PGA Professional and TPI Level 1 golf fitness trainer.

Personal training is for beginners, active adults, athletes, golfers, and anyone wanting individualized strength, mobility, body-composition, performance, or accountability support.

Athletic performance coaching develops strength, power, speed, mobility, endurance, and movement skills around the demands of a client's sport and current training level.

Yes. Jessica Velasco is certified in prenatal and postpartum fitness and provides individualized coaching based on the client's current stage, comfort, goals, exercise history, and healthcare guidance.

Nutrition coaching may include practical habit development, meal structure, macro education, accountability, and coordination with a fitness plan. GSS provides general nutrition education and coaching, not medical nutrition therapy.

Heather Goodwin develops online nutrition, macro, and fitness programs; Jessica Velasco is a NASM Certified Nutrition Coach; and Frank Shelton incorporates nutrition planning into individualized fitness support.

Yes. Training, stretch therapy, golf or athletic performance, nutrition coaching, and recovery amenities can be coordinated around a client's goals and schedule.

GSS coaches work with a wide range of movement histories within their professional scope. Clients with surgeries, pain, neurological conditions, pregnancy, or other medical considerations should obtain appropriate healthcare clearance.
